What We Do

Home Essentials

When a veteran obtains new housing, it is virtually four empty walls.  We step in and try to fill the rooms to make it a home by providing a couch, recliner, end tables, lamps, coffee table, bed, bedding, dresser, hangers, kitchen table and chairs, cookware, microwave, dishes, silverware, storage containers, shower curtain, bathroom rugs, and bathroom towels.  Anything they might need for a new home.

Unsheltered Needs

We provide essentials to those that are unsheltered and living on the streets.  Food items that don't require cooking (crackers, beef jerky, gift cards to fast food restaurants), hats, gloves, hand warmers, blankets, shoes, socks, jackets, warm shirts, pants, feminine hygiene products and backpacks are constant needs.  Through Veteran's Day, Blessed Sacrament School is collecting food items for blessing bags to be distributed to unsheltered veterans.

Food Support

We provide grocery assistance to veterans directly.  We also provide non-perishable food items to the VA Clinics for their food banks.

Community Outreach

We attend community events to spread awareness and bring resources and information to those wanting to participate and for veterans that may be in need of assistance.  Recent events we have attended were the Hamilton County Veterans Appreciation Day at Great American Ballpark, the Welcome Home Parade at CVG airport for the Tri-State Honor Flight, and Lunken Airport Days hosted by Cincinnati Warbirds.

Dinners/Events

We work to build relationships with veterans in need during luncheons, dinners, and other events to boost morale.  We host a monthly dinner at the Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans.  We have hosted a tailgating party, an outing to the planetarium, a pizza night, and a scavenger hunt.  We will be hosting a Thanksgiving Luncheon with the Girl Scouts on November 24, 2024.
